At the end of the semester, when importing the student XML file from Quick Vic into CASES21, the following are error messages which may be encountered together with the resolution:
XML Validation Error. The validation of the import file has failed. No student data can be loaded. Please contact your Vendor (e.g. QuickVic, MarkBook, etc..) for a correctly formatted import file.
This error message can occur if you have manually added students into the Central Reporting System using student codes which are not the same as the student codes in CASES21. If you receive this error, please call Quick Vic Reporting technical support.
When exporting the student XML file from the Central Reporting System, if an XML Export Issues box appears, check the names of the students for whom errors have been found. In the example below, the students are missing the two special system ‘subjects’ which are created by the process of importing a Student XML file.
The most common reason for such messages is that these students were added manually in Central Reporting System and not imported into the Central reporting System via an XML file. If this is the case, you must re-import an up-to-date Student XML file, following the steps in section 1.6.2 of the training guide, in order to assign the campus and registration data. You will not lose any assessment or comment data by importing a new Student XML file.
Click the Cancel button and investigate the cause of the problem.
When importing the student XML file into CASES21, the following error message may be encountered at step 1:
Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
This error may occur if the XML file has become corrupt. Usually this is due to the XML file being saved onto a floppy disk.
Export another XML file to a different media (ideally not a floppy disk) e.g a USB memory stick or a network folder. Alternatively use another floppy disk.
